The Discovery Sun, built in 1968, has over the past decade carried more than four million people, many of them gamblers, on day trips between Port Everglades and Grand Bahama Island.

Unlike other casino boats listed here, the Discovery Sun has more of the ambiance of a larger cruise ship.

But it also has a Las Vegas-style casino that offers slots and a wide variety of table games.

Discovery departs each morning (except some Wednesdays) from Port Everglades at 7:45 (you need to get their a couple hours earlier for boarding) and returns at 10 in the evening.  Because the ship docks in the Bahamas, passengers are required to have with them the documents needed on a trip outside the United States.
