  The Ocean Jewel

The Ocean Jewel is a 450-foot, eight story ship that sails from the Port of St. Petersburg and sits off the Gulf coast as gamblers are shuttled to-and-from the casino aboard fast catamarans.

It went into drydock for maintenance and repair in October 2005. There was no word as to when it would reopen, and it had not resumed service as of January 2006.

The hourly shuttle option provides more flexibility for gamblers in arrival and departure times, as well as a much quicker trip out to where the gambling takes place. On weekends, the last shuttle leaves the Ocean Jewel to return to St. Petersburg at 3 am.

Once aboard the Ocean Jewel, gamblers find more than 1,000 slots, a variety of table games including blackjack, roulette, and craps, as well as a poker room.

Reservations are not required, but passengers are advised to check in advance because sailings are sometimes cancelled due to weather or high seas. The shuttle service to the Ocean Jewel operates from the Port of St. Petersburg, located at 8th Avenue SE.
